Finding the right piano can be a daunting challenge. The choices can be confusing to the first-time buyer, as well as to the existing piano owner looking to upgrade. Fortunately, Lafargue Pianos can help no matter what level your knowledge is.

Lafargue Pianos sells a variety of brands including New Mason & Hamlin (which named Lafargue “Dealer of the Year” in 2006), Kawai and Charles R. Water. Sales of “like new” pianos include Steinway, Baldwin, Yamaha and many more, most with new piano warranties. There’s even a “Rent to Own” program with some models.
In addition to pianos, Lafargue offers estimates, appraisals, restoration and repair work, along with tuning, maintenance, refinishing, installation, maintenance, concert-level voicing and regulation work. Besides the retail space, Lafarge also has a facility for rebuilding pianos.

 “[The company is] built upon old fashioned hard work, a high level of training and experience, and honesty,” says Lance Lafargue, a registered piano technician who co-owns the store with his wife, Brenda. He also works with master craftsman John Bruce.

What’s the first thing you discuss with a client?
We often realize customers have been misinformed.

We gently try to educate them and offer books to substantiate what we’re saying, then with the new accurate information, guide them  toward what they need.

What’s one of your goals as a retailer?
We look at every challenge or problem as an opportunity to serve someone, and our goal is to deliver more than they expected … [I’ll] tune a piano and polish brass, clean, voice, fix a bench at no extra charge … It’s not just about making a sale. Do good work, be honest, give more than what’s expected and the sales and success will come.

Do you have any specials or sales this month?
We’re still offering $1,000 of free music software with our PianoDisk player systems. There will be a fall/pre-holiday sale and then a Christmas sale.
