With a background in Structural Engineering, LAS Enterprises’ Richard Maia, COO, enjoys marrying modern technologies and efficiencies with his hometown’s ageless architecture and style. Maia has spent countless hours studying the historical shutters and windows of New Orleans to assist in developing new profiles and products that perform to current standards while honoring historical aesthetics.
Unlike competitors’ aluminum shutters, LAS shutters offer an historical accuracy indistinguishable from the street from artisan wooden shutter products while providing the massive benefits of aluminum with a low-maintenance powder coating. Family-owned, LAS Enterprises also provides vinyl windows and siding and outdoor privacy wall systems. All LAS products are manufactured locally at the company’s Northshore plant, and the company is one of few in its industry to design, manufacture, install, and warrant its own products.
