As Chief Operating Officer for LAS Enterprises, Richard Maia has the privilege of marrying modern technologies and efficiencies with the area’s ageless architecture and style. Maia has spent countless hours studying the historical shutters and windows of his native New Orleans to assist in developing new profiles and products that perform to current standards while honoring historical aesthetics.
“While competitors’ aluminum shutter products can be easily identified as metal shutters with a high-gloss powder coating, we strive to create shutters with historical accuracy that are indistinguishable from the street from artisan wooden shutter products while providing the massive benefits of aluminum with a low-maintenance powder coating,” says Maia.
A family-owned company founded in 1957, LAS Enterprises began as an aluminum siding and window company and has evolved its products over the years to include vinyl windows and siding, aluminum shutters, and outdoor privacy wall systems. Made in the Gulf South for the Gulf South, LAS’s products are manufactured locally in the company’s Northshore warehouse—the company is one of few in its industry to design, manufacturer, install, and warrant its own products. The company was recently named Best Window Company and Best Hurricane Preparation Company in New Orleans Homes & Lifestyles.
