Simple, bold drinks for big jazz
This month, the French Quarter Festival takes up a whole weekend, April 9-11. Then we have the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival, which rolls for two big weekends, April 23-25 and April 29-May 2.
It is a hectic time because you really don’t want to miss a moment of either event. It is also a time to make matters as easy as you can because you’re going to have plenty to do, and preparing the correct accompanying beverages is a challenge.
You don’t want to bring something to the festivals that’s not festive, nor do you want to be stuck at the bar prepping, muddling, straining and shaking.

1 ounce Don Q Mojito Rum
3 ounces iced tea, unsweetened
Pour iced tea into rum, over ice. Squeeze lemon wedge, then rim glass with lemon.
(Additional hint: 1 bottle of Don Q Mojito Rum can be added to 1 gallon of unsweetened iced tea. Now you have drinks for your entire crowd.)
