Casa Argentina hosted a spectacular tango show to provide funds for the organization’s philanthropic goals, emphasizing the educational programs for underserved Latino youth.
Dimmed clear and colorful spotlights created an intimate yet festive atmosphere. Tango dancers led by the Hermanos Macana kept everyone mesmerized with the entire show and included a few lighthearted jokes to keep guests laughing. A stand-out number included Argentine folklore that evoked enthusiastic applause.
The New Orleans Downtown Marriott provided a hearty dinner with Latin flavors, paired with Argentine malbec and white wines and rounded out with a piña colada flan for dessert.
Following dinner, the band Julio & Cesar performed Latin music that encouraged partygoers to fill the dance floor and tango all evening.
Yakelis Anzola, Marlene Donovan, Juan Gershanik and Betty Spreyer co-chaired the event.
