The National Council of Jewish Women Greater New Orleans Section held its 43rd Hannah G. Solomon Awards Luncheon on April 27. Carol Wise received this esteemed award due to her leadership abilities while volunteering in and around the New Orleans area. The award is given annually to a community leader who exemplifies the qualities of Hannah G. Solomon, the founder of NCJW, and is inspired by Jewish values.

Wise received this award due to her lifetime achievement, service and leadership. Throughout her lifetime, Wise has given back to the community through various ways such as serving on the board of the Jewish Community Center of New Orleans, Touro Synagogue, Council for Young Children and Touro Hospital Foundation. She is currently the president of the Tulane Hillel Board and Chair of the New Building Campaign.

The luncheon was planned by Marianne Cohn, Sue Singer and Rachelle Stein, and it took place at Hotel InterContinental in the Grand Ballroom. Joan Berenson was a co-chair in planning this wonderful event. Entertainment was provided by Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra conductor Rebecca Miller, and her husband Danny Driver, a pianist.

Membership for the National Council of Jewish Women Great New Orleans Section has an open membership policy. There are no exclusions based on gender or religion.
