Lent Specials at Top New Orleans Restaurants

NEW ORLEANS (press release) – Beginning Ash Wednesday, top Chefs and restaurants in New Orleans are rolling out a variety of specialty meatless dishes catering to those observing the 46 days of Lent.

JACK ROSE

Food: Fettucine Nero with blue crab, chanterelles and vermouth cream; Royal Red Shrimp Muddy Waters with squid ink campanelle; Gulf Snapper Amandine with celery root, fregola and citrus; and King Trumpet Mushrooms with capers, garlic and bucatini.

Where: Jack Rose is located at 2031 St. Charles Avenue in New Orleans’ Garden District.

JEWEL OF THE SOUTH

Food: Crab Salad with potato bread and crab roe butter; Tokyo Turnips with Granny Smith and hollandaise; and Red Endive with crisp endive and white anchovy.

Where: Jewel of the South is located at 1026 Saint Louis Street in New Orleans’ French Quarter.

COPPER VINE

Food: Special Lent menus for lunch, brunch and dinner with specialties such as Jumbo Lump Crab Gnocchi, Gulf Fish Bouillabaisse, the Impossible Burger with gruyere and caramelized onions; and Blackened Tuna Nicoise.
