Outdoor Lighting Perspectives has been providing Southeast Louisiana with innovative light fixture solutions for the past 10 years, according to Tim Charrier of OLP. “We specialize in the design, installation and service of architectural, landscape and security lighting,” Charrier says. “We also offer automated lighting control systems to control interior and exterior lighting.”
One of Outdoor Lighting Perspectives’ more unique services is called “moonlighting,” which is “the art of placing fixtures in large oaks, which simulates the moon’s glow through the branches and creates dancing shadows on the landscaping below. This is very popular in our area.”
OLP also offers free nighttime design consultations so that customers can approve of lighting selection, placement, and quantity of fixtures before they commit.
“Outdoor Lighting Perspectives carries an extensive product line and can match most existing fixtures for add-on projects,” Charrier says. “We service what we sell and can repair existing systems.” OLP also offers a 10-year warranty on products and a one-year bulb warranty.

Martinis and more at Monkey Hill
Monkey Hill Bar has only been in operation since 2001, but it has become a popular hangout for young professionals and those looking for specialty drinks, beers and wine in an elegant atmosphere.
Mike Brinkman, general manager, says that the bar is well-known for its specialty martinis. One of the most popular drinks is the decadent Chocolate Martini, while in the warmer months, he recommends a fresh fruit mojito. Brinkman adds that the bar is romantically lit with plenty of comfortable seating in the form of plush couches. It also boasts a pool table, high-definition televisions and other bar games such as shuffleboard. It is spacious and situated in a quiet spot Uptown on Magazine Street, in close proximity to Audubon Park.
Happy hour is held at Monkey Hill from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. on weekdays. Information, 6100 Magazine St., 454-8197, www.monkeyhillbar.com.
