Mr. Laborde,
I lived in New Orleans for 30 years and now live in Redding CA. I have been getting the News letter for a month or two.
I just love it. Thanks for the satire on William Jefferson. It really is sad, but true, the man is a greedy snake in the grass. I miss my old home town and love hearing the news right from the heart of the Crescent City. I am sad about what Katrina did. I used to run from storms almost every year. I grew up in Biloxi so I knew what a hurricane could do. I pray for the people there and hope things will improve soon. I know it will never be the same.
Keep up the good work and God Bless.

I thought we learned a lesson in Katrina. Any thing below sea level is an accident waiting to happen. Why does the Mayor want to spend millions of dollars to build a two story retention pond) disguised as retail space and a parking garage, below the ground level park! This whole project is a disguised, and poorly disguised, attempt to save the Hyatt folks who mistakenly bought the New Orleans Center before the storm. Take a real hard look at how much private money will go into this project.
