Light in the Dark

Event chairs Adrienne Casbarian, Katy Casbarian and Mathilde Currence went above and beyond for another successful The Lighthouse for the Blind Annual Gala, which this year took place in the Count’s Room at Arnaud’s Restaurant on Thursday, March 29.  

Attendants enjoyed a variety of delectable hors d’oeuvres, a few of which included oyster Bienville tartlets, crawfish spring rolls, boudin wontons, fried eggplant doubloons topped with powered sugar and prosciutto-wrapped asparagus. A buffet featuring beef tenderloin, jumbo Gulf shrimp, oysters on the half-shell, shrimp and corn maque choux, turtle soup, asparagus and brie soup and seared tuna was also available for guests to enjoy.

The sounds of the Gumbo Pot Trio entertained guests at a night filled with wonderful food and music for a great cause.

The silent auction raised over $4,000 which contributed to a total of $38,575 in order to carry out The Lighthouse for the Blind’s mission is to offer education and careers to the visually impaired.

The Lighthouse for the Blind has served and assisted the visually impaired community in New Orleans for 97 years.
