Lightning Round! Making up for Lost Time

Since Hurricane Barry came in and rained on our parade, let’s play catch-up. For this special lightning round of weekend events, I’ve complied activities that were rescheduled from last weekend as well as exciting goings-on for this weekend. Let’s have a lightning round! I’m expanding the usual five events to six, considering. All events should go on this weekend – weather permitting.

7/18: July Ladies’ Lunch: For the month of July, Social Southern Table and Bar will treat ladies to half-off lunch on Thursdays from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Entrees include regular lunch menu items with fresh greens, sandwiches, brick oven flatbreads and supper plates. This special is for dine-in orders only! Make reservations with your girls by calling 337-456-3274.

7/18: Stranger Things trivia Night: You know things, but do you know “Stranger Things?” Reve Coffee Roasters hosts another trivia night this Saturday at 7 p.m. centered around the Hawkins gang. Questions will be related to all seasons, so brush up on seasons one and two again even if you have already binged.

7/19: Rosé Crawl: You know the drill. Social Entertainment Productions will guide attendees down Jefferson Street for an imbibed adventure Saturday. Check-in is at 5:30 p.m.-7 p.m. at CENTRAL Pizza & Bar. At 7, the Rosé Crawl begins at Central then will make its way to The Wurst Biergarten, Legend’s of Lafayette, The Jefferson St. Pub, and finally The Pearl for an Afterparty. Tickets must be purchased in advance at socialentertainment.net. This is a rain or shine event!

7/20: Sketch, Scribble, Doodle Play Day: The Paul and Lulu Hilliard Art Museum invites everyone to explore a world of illustration with dots, lines and loops for its Summer Play Day this Saturday starting at 9 a.m.! Come see the gallery exhibits and engage in activities and art making, or create children’s book illustrations with author Denise Gallagher. Basin Arts will also be there for a family dance, and yoga instructor Lacey Gothreaux will be on site.

7/20: Todd Barry at Club 337: Comedian Todd Barry, who has appeared on ”The Late Show with David Letterman,” “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert,” “Conan” and “Late Night with Seth Meyers” will make his first appearance in Lafayette this Saturday at Club 337 in the Doubletree Hilton Hotel. His acting credits include “Sex and the City,” “Aqua Teen Hunger Force,” “Flight of the Concords” and “Chapelle’s Show.” He has also lent his voice to “Bob’s Burger’s.” For a Barry refresher not related to hurricanes, check out his Netflix Special “Spicy Honey,” or his critically acclaimed travel memoir “Thank You for Coming to Hattiesburg.” Show starts at 8:30 p.m.  Tickets are available on Eventbrite for $20.

7/20: Artwalk at the Wurst: Due to Barry, Lafayette was forced to skip Artwalk this week. However, the Wurst Biergarten will make up for lost time this Saturday by hosting its Artwalk art market. Arts, crafts, food items, vintage goods and various types of other vendors will have their wares available for sale in this family-friendly, dog-friendly venue. The market opens at 5 p.m. and ends at 9 p.m,
