NEW ORLEANS (press release) – Chefs Donald Link and Stephen Stryjewski announce the next dinner in the Link Stryjewski Foundation’s dinner series – a spin on “European Vacation.” The fundraiser features a four-course dinner inspired by a recent research and development trip to Europe by chefs de cuisine David Rouse (Herbsaint), Bret Macris (Cochon), Nicole Mills (Peche), and Jacob Dufreche (Butcher). The event will take place on Thursday, November 7 at 7 PM at Calcasieu (930 Tchoupitoulas Street) and will benefit the Link Stryjewski Foundation and its mission to nourish, educate and empower the youth of New Orleans. “As chefs, we never stop learning. It’s important to get out of your comfort zone to see and taste new things,” states Chef Link, Co-Founder of the Link Stryjewski Foundation. “David, Bret, Nicole and Jake came back from their recent trip to Paris, Dijon, Beaune and Barcelona inspired from talking to chefs and discovering new techniques and flavors. Traveling gets the creative juices flowing and renews a passion for what we do.”
Each Link Restaurant Group chef de cuisine will offer a course inspired by dining experiences on their trip including those at Le Comptoir in Paris, La Ferme de la Ruchotte just outside of Beaune and Bodega 1900 in Barcelona. A selection of wines generously donated by Republic National Distributing Company will accompany the meal. “The menu gives each chef an opportunity to bring to light what inspired them from their most memorable meals in France and Spain,” said Stryjewski. “Just as our foundation aims to educate the youth of New Orleans, we all must continue to educate ourselves.”
Tickets are $100 per person, including gratuity. Reservations are required and can be made by calling (504) 588-2123. Previous Link Stryjewski Foundation dinners with menu themes including dim sum, a Mediterranean family supper with free-flowing rosé, and all things crawfish have sold out quickly.
