Nearly 4,000 people gathered on the grounds of Audubon Zoo for an elegant night out under the stars on May 6.
Attendees dressed in their best for the annual Whitney Zoo-To-Do, which raised money for the zoo’s newest exhibit, Twilight Zoo. Since its inaugural gala in 1972, the fundraiser has generated more than $20 million to support the Audubon Nature Institute.
The enchanting evening included cocktails and food from 140 vendors and restaurants around town, a silent auction for exotic vacations, diamond jewelry and more, and a luxury vehicle raffle for a 2011 Lexus ES350. The Four Tops headlined the entertainment for the night along with The Mixed Nuts, The Algiers Brass Band and Banu Gibson. A patron and sponsor party kicked off events at the Jerome S. Glazer Audubon Tea Room, Garden and Patron Lounge.
Guests included Audubon Nature Institute President and CEO Ron Forman with wife Sally, gala chairperson Mary Johnson and husband Eddie, Zoo-To-Do for Kids chair Anne Villere with husband Sandy. Sponsors included Whitney Bank, Lexus of New Orleans, AT&T Louisiana, Chevron, BP America, Inc. and JoS. A. Bank Clothiers.
