AWARDS AND ACCOLADES

Tulane architecture professor and author Richard Campanella will receive the 20th Annual Louisiana Writer Award at this year’s Louisiana Book Festival on Saturday, Nov. 2. He will be recognized for his nearly 20-year career detailing the history, culture, triumphs and challenges of living in Louisiana.

Past recipients of the award include: Ernest Gaines, Valerie Martin, Elmore Leonard, Yusef Komunyakaa, and Sheryl St. Germain.

In a recent press announcement, Campanella, commented on the honor: “From reading about Louisiana in 1971 all the way to today, my passion and love for Louisiana has never wavered, and Louisiana has provided me with so much opportunity over the years. I look forward to continuing to chronicle and publish about the uniqueness of Louisiana and her people.”
