At its core, a wedding symbolizes a new beginning. It’s the coming together of two people through love and shared values into a new unit. In New Orleans, we see many new beginnings – new businesses, new events, new things being created every day – but at its heart New Orleans is an old soul with its old traditions and a long and rich history.
Galatoire’s Restaurant is a huge part of New Orleans’ history and the lives of individuals and families who have been here for generations. Since opening in 1905, Galatoire’s has been one of the crown jewels of the culinary scene. Without compromising its legacy Galatoire’s has managed to expand on what makes it great and create its own new beginnings. In 2013, steakhouse Galatoire’s “33” was added to the group of restaurants and this year, the group has added an even bigger expansion with the opening of Galerie de Galatoire.
Growing beyond the iconic Bourbon Street location, Galerie de Galatoire is expanding the restaurant concept to Royal Street as one of the largest, non-hotel, dining rooms in the French Quarter.
Located across from the Hotel Monteleone, the Galerie de Galatoire boasts an impressive 5,500 square feet space that allows for up to 450 guests, giving clients – more importantly couples – a way to add the tradition of Galatoire’s into their events.
The room itself can be separated into two areas, allowing for various options when it comes to hosting the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception all in the same location.
Though the location will have its own individual menu, the team behind the new concept tells LTEC that couples hoping to include the signature Galatoire’s menu in their Big Day can choose from a selection of French Creole cuisine similar to what’s featured at the original Galatoire’s, as well as a few classics from the restaurant. The space also includes a chef’s gallery, a high-walled terrace and two full balconies overlooking Royal Street.
“Consistency has been the greatest asset displayed by Galatoire’s for more than a century,” said the Galerie de Galatoire’s team in a press release about the opening. “The world-famous New Orleans cuisine and impeccable service of Galatoire’s are carried over to Galerie de Galatoire as every aspect and attention to detail in this new dining room reflects the traditional experience guests have enjoyed at Galatoire’s for generations.”
The Galerie de Galatoire is officially opened and allowing for event bookings. To schedule walkthrough and get more information, couples can visit galeriedegalatoire.com or call 504-525-2021.
