NEW ORLEANS (press release) – The Louisiana Children’s Museum (LCM) announced its new summer mini camps series, designed to bring the magic of LCM’s camp experiences directly to schools and community partners.
“We know how tough it can be to fill camp programming gaps or fight the summer brain drain during your summer enrichment camps and programs,” said Mary Bongiovanni, camp director at LCM. “Our engaging mini camps are the perfect solution.”
Led by LCM’s experienced educators, these offsite adventures are jam-packed with hands-on activities that cover a wide range of subjects from literacy and science to math and the arts. Perfect for packed camp schedules, mini camps offer the LCM camp experience, but at your location.
Sample mini camps include:
- Bubble-ology: Campers will explore the fascinating world of bubble science, uncovering the surprising math and science behind these mesmerizing shapes.
- Aspiring Architects: This session dives into the world of design and engineering, where campers can learn the secrets of building sturdy bridges through hands-on projects.
- Melody Makers: Experience the rhythm and soul of New Orleans with this interactive mini camp! Campers will craft their own DIY instruments and learn about the rich cultural traditions that make this music iconic.
- Bayou Biology: Embark on a wild adventure into the wonders of South Louisiana! Campers will discover the amazing local plants and animals and learn why it’s important to protect them.
