NEW ORLEANS (press release) – The new Louisiana Children’s Museum (LCM) in New Orleans City Park at 1 Roosevelt Mall is set to open its doors to the public, end of summer 2019. The museum began construction at their new site in May 2017 after 31 years at their beloved location in the New Orleans Warehouse District. The move was motivated by LCM’s expanded vision to invest in improving resources for the region’s young children, and their support networks and ecosystems. The design of the new campus is modern and contemporary, filled with light and glass, taking full advantage of the natural park setting.
The new museum is nestled on a lush and beautiful 8.5-acre site in City Park, and it will be an undeniable asset to New Orleans and Louisiana children and families, as well as visitors from around the country and the world, with a focus on early childhood development for children eight and under. But anyone visiting will find the new LCM a treasure.
