NEW ORLEANS (press release) – As the first major exhibition of Louisiana landscape paintings in more than 40 years, Inventing Acadia: Painting and Place in Louisiana reveals how the state became a nexus of artists pushing the boundaries of the traditional landscape genre. The exhibition of works by such artists as Joseph Reesling Meeker, Richard Clague, and Alfred Boisseau will remain on view through Jan. 26, 2020. Curator Katie Pfohl will deliver a lecture during Friday Nights at NOMA on Nov. 22.
