NEW ORLEANS (press release) – The Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra, the region’s premier and Grammy Award-winning orchestra, announces the addition of musical collaborations with local artists and composers to the 2023-2024 season. Queen of Bounce Big Freedia returns to the LPO at the Orpheum Theater and rapper Alfred Banks, composer Charles Lumar II, and producer and percussionist ÌFÉ join the LPO’s Music at the Museum series. Queen of Bounce and New Orleans icon Big Freedia returns to the LPO stage by popular demand to make you bounce at the Orpheum Theater with her fan favorites and newest hits. Grammy-nominated New Orleans rapper Alfred Banks makes his LPO debut with a world premiere arrangement of selections for the LPO. New Orleans composer Charles Lumar ll also joins the program for a New Orleans premiere of his work “Elaine Sun” created in partnership with the John F. Kennedy Center in Washington D.C.
