Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra Presents ÌFÉ, Continues Family Concerts

NEW ORLEANS (press release) – The Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra‘s (LPO) Music at the Museum series continues with a program blending elements of Afro-Cuban folklore, Jamaican Dancehall, Trap and Afro-Beat performed live with the LPO and ÌFÉ arranged by LPO violist Sixto Franco. The evening will also feature expressive chamber works composed by Kenji Bunch and Sarah Kirkland Snider.

Additionally, Conductor and composer Stephen Mulligan takes the podium to lead the LPO in living composer Jessie Montgomery’s Strum, Dvořák’s Czech Suite, and Mendelssohn’s final Scottish Symphony. Open rehearsal begins at 10 a.m. and tickets are $10.

And finally, LPO’s Family Concert series continues with a live narration of Dan Brown’s “The Inspirations of Wild Symphony.” Guests are invited to arrive early at 10:15 for kids to explore instruments in the LPO Instrument Petting Zoo led by the musicians that play them.
