The Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra is the only musician-owned and
collaboratively managed professional symphony in the United States.
The orchestra will perform all nine of Ludwig van Beethoven’s extraordinary
symphonies during the season.
Beethoven, Brahms and Osorio | Sept. 18 at 7:30 p.m., Sept. 20 at 8 p.m., Roussel Hall, Loyola University, New Orleans; Sept. 19 at 7:30 p.m., First Baptist Church, Covington. Pianist Jorge Federico Osorio performs Brahms’ Piano Concerto No. 2. Program begins the Beethoven cycle with Symphony No 1.
A Bohemeian Rhapsody | Sept. 24, 7:30 p.m., First Baptist Church, Kenner.
The Rat Pack | Sept. 27 at 8 p.m., Dixon Hall, Tulane University. A symphonic celebration of Frank, Sammy and Dino.
Beethoven No. 2 | Oct. 2-3 at 7:30 p.m., First Baptist Church, New Orleans. The rarely heard second symphony continues the cycle.
Beethoven No. 3 | Oct. 23-24, 7:30 p.m., First Baptist Church, New Orleans. Along with “Eroica,” the program features pre-eminent
cellist Carlos Prieto, under the baton of his son Carlos Miguel Prieto.
Russian Revolution | Oct. 29, 7:30 p.m., First Baptist Church, Kenner.
