NEW ORLEANS (press release) – The Louisiana SPCA will close its adoption centers in New Orleans and Plaquemines from July 23-25 to participate in PetSmart Charities National Adoption Weekend All adoptable animals from both facilities will be transported to three area PetSmart stores for adoption 1 – 5 p.m.

According to PetSmart Charities, more than 25,000 adoptable pets find their forever home during National Adoption Weekends. During the weekend long adoption event, the Louisiana SPCA will offer discounted adoption fees at each PetSmart location above in hopes of finding homes for 120 animals. Last year 103 animals from the Louisiana SPCA found their forever homes during the adoption weekend.
In addition to discounted adoption fees during the event, each new family will receive a coupon book from PetSmart with more than $300 in savings for cats and $400 in savings for dogs. Each adoption also includes the pet’s spay/neuter, vaccines, microchip and pet insurance.
