LOVE in the Garden Presented by Hancock Whitney Returns to NOMA

NEW ORLEANS (press release) – LOVE in the Garden Presented by Hancock Whitney returns to the Sydney and Walda Besthoff Sculpture Garden at the New Orleans Museum of Art (NOMA) on Sept. 24. This year, guests will enjoy a fun, festive, casual evening offering the best of New Orleans food, spirits, and entertainment.

“We are so delighted to once again host LOVE in the Garden in the Besthoff Sculpture Garden,” said Susan Taylor, NOMA’s Montine McDaniel Freeman director. “As one of the most beloved events in New Orleans, I know we will all enjoy the festive occasion with a renewed sense of joy and celebration.”

Event co-chairs Meaghan Ryan Bonavita, Martine Chaisson Linares and Chad Graci have worked collaboratively and devotedly on all details of the event. Assisting the co-chairs is Robyn Schwarz, the 2021 NOMA Volunteer Committee Chair, and NOMA’s LOVE in the Garden Event Committee.

Kicking off the evening at 7 p.m., Patron Party guests will enjoy entertainment by the NOCCA Trio. The Patron Party is followed by the Garden Party from 8 to 11 p.m., with entertainment by the Bucktown All-Stars. The evening is presented by Hancock Whitney. Featured cuisine at LOVE in the Garden 2021 will be provided by Ralph Brennan Restaurant Group. Redfish Grill, Ralph’s on the Park, Ralph Brennan Catering, Café NOMA, Brennan’s, and Napoleon House will be serving signature dishes to guests.

“Hancock Whitney’s roots are grounded in New Orleans and we are honored to partner with NOMA to celebrate the art and culture of the region,” said Elizabeth Hefler, senior vice president, Hancock Whitney and NOMA Trustee. “NOMA’s LOVE in the Garden presented by Hancock Whitney is a wonderful chance to celebrate the museum and the work it does to showcase and preserve its permanent collection for generations to come.”

LOVE in the Garden is a celebration of the 17th anniversary of The Sydney and Walda Besthoff Sculpture Garden, which is free and open to the public seven days a week. Since its opening in November 2003, and with the garden’s 6.5-acre expansion in 2019, NOMA’s Besthoff Sculpture Garden is one of the most popular public spaces in New Orleans for locals, students, and tourists. Proceeds from LOVE in the Garden help to guarantee the future stability of the museum and programs that are vital to the New Orleans community, and beyond.
