On September 23, New Orleans Museum of Art supporters flocked to NOMA’s Besthoff Sculpture Garden to spend an evening under the stars in honor of the beloved art museum and those artists who have made an impact on the community through their works.

NOMA’s centennial “LOVE in the Garden” fundraiser, organized by co-chairs Jennifer Shelnutt and Annie Flettrich with NOMA volunteer chair Kimberly Zibilich, included a patron party with music by the Mike Krobin Band followed by the main garden party with music by Mixed Nuts. A variety of cuisine provided by over 30 local restaurants such as Acme Oyster House, Antoine’s, Café NOMA, Muriel’s, Squeal BBQ and MONDO – paired with unlimited libations in the Firefly Vodka Garden – pleased palates.

The five outstanding local artists honored at the celebration were Andy Brott, Mari De Pedro, Kathleen Loe, Ayo Scott and Julie Silvers. Each has impacted the community through their dedication to the arts and the city of New Orleans.

Proceeds from “LOVE in the Garden” benefit the New Orleans Museum of Art. Home to over 30,000 pieces of art spanning through 4,000 years of history, NOMA seeks to inspire the love of art and to preserve, exhibit and present excellence in the visual arts.
