That’s the perspective of the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at LSU, where curious minds come together in a vibrant community of fellowship, activity, and education for Louisiana adults 50 years and older.

With four chapters spread across South Louisiana, Lagniappe (Baton Rouge), Crescent City (New Orleans & Metairie), Camellia City (Slidell & Convington), Felicianas (St. Francisville & New Roads), OLLI at LSU offers convenient ways to learn, connect, and explore close to home. By bonding through the joy of learning, OLLI at LSU members are able to explore new passions ranging from health and wellness, history, technology, the arts, and more, all designed for maximum fun and enrichment. From walking clubs to yoga or Pickleball, OLLI at LSU encourages both mental and physical vitality through non-credit learning, with no homework or grades to worry about, just meaningful engagement and intellectual enrichment.

Each chapter features its own unique course load of fun-first classes and enriching experiences for members. In the upcoming Spring 2026 session, the Crescent City chapter is featuring a “Basic and Intermediate Drawing/Color Theory” course, focused on developing observational skills and techniques to create art on a two-dimensional surface. Other highlights include the Camilla Chapter’s “Exploring Cajun and Creole Cuisine” courses, “Yoga for Strength and Flexibility” in St. Francisville & New Roads, and even a “World of Italian Wine” class as a part of the Lagniappe Chapter. These are just a small sample of the manycourses available, with classes offered in-person, online, or hybrid. OLLI at LSU meets members where they are and empowers lifelong learners to explore their interests, stay curious, and grow through enriching experiences designed to fit their lives.

Spring 2026 courses begin February 23, with early course registration open between January 26 and February 8, followed by regular course registration, which is open between February 9 and March 4.  Right now, new members can join OLLI at LSU with a special spring membership of $25, valid through June 30th, 2026.
