BATON ROUGE, La (press release) – Lieutenant Governor Billy Nungesser is inviting Louisiana citizens to attend an “American Idol” Watch Party for finalist and Destrehan native Faith Becnel on Monday, April 19, 6 p.m. to 9p.m., at Rock N’ Bowl in New Orleans. Becnel’s performance on the program will be shown during the event. She will also perform live at the event in her quest to make it into the Top 10 in this season’s competition. The event will by livestreamed by Rock N’ Bowl. Lieutenant Governor Nungesser urges Louisiana citizens and fans to vote for Faith starting at 7p.m. CST when the show airs on ABC and for the next 6 days through April 26. Online voting happens at www.AmericanIdol.com/vote.

Background on Faith Becnel
Faith Becnel is a young, dynamic vocalist, entertainer, and artist born and raised in New Orleans. Faith has been performing on stage since she was 10 years old, recording her first CD, “I Believe”, when she was only 12 years old. At 13, she formed her own band, the “Music Krewe”, and continues to hone her skills as a vocalist and performer. She has performed on stage with many of the great Louisiana legends and bands throughout our state and surrounding states.
Faith auditioned for “American Idol” in 2019 and worked her way to the Top 20, which concluded in May 2020. After the show, Faith recorded “The Christmas Song” with Idol’s Season 18 winner Samantha Diaz, advancing her recording skills as an artist. Faith’s first single “Shhh” was released May 2020.
Faith is invited back to “American Idol” on April 19, 2021, for a comeback show to fight for one spot in Season 19’s Top 10. Faith’s ambition and drive combined with her powerhouse vocals and poise on stage are propelling her as she has become a premier entertainer and artist.
