The New Orleans Police and Justice Foundation held their biggest fundraiser of the year Dec. 4, 2007 at the Hilton Riverside Hotel in New Orleans. The Stake Out for Justice luncheon presented by the Harrah’s Foundation featured an awards ceremony and a speech given by a nationally-renowned journalist.

CNN correspondent Soledad O’Brien delivered the keynote address at the luncheon. Frank A. Glaviano, Sr., NOPJF vice chair and Vice President for Shell’s Production Operations in the Americas Region, accepted the Corporate Responsibility Award on behalf of Shell Oil Company. NOPJF founder John Casbon received the Chief’s Award. Sgt. Samuel Palumbo and Officer Kevin Boswell each received a Community Service Award.

The proceeds from the luncheon, roughly $370,000, benefited NOPJF. The organization, founded over a decade ago, seeks to provide financial and operational support to the New Orleans Police Department.

Luncheon sponsors included New Orleans Riverside Hilton, McMoRan Exploration Co. and Tidewater. Harrah’s Foundation was presenting sponsor.
