Dr Feldman

A lifetime New Orleanian and Partner at The Rheumatology Group, Dr. Madelaine Turegano Feldman has 30 years of practice experience. She founded the Rheumatology Alliance of Louisiana, a 501c3 that advocates for excellence in rheumatology care for those with autoimmune conditions such as lupus and rheumatoid arthritis. Now President of the Coalition of State Rheumatology Organizations board, she is sought nationally for her expertise on pharmacy benefit managers and drug pricing.

Immediate Past Chair of the Alliance for Safe Biologic Medicines, Dr. Feldman was invited to speak at the World Health Organization. She has received the Distinguished Service Award from Tulane Medical School, where she serves as Clinical Associate Professor, and was named one of CityBusiness’s Top Women in New Orleans.

This year, Dr. Feldman won the first annual Innovation in Clinical Care Award from the American College of Rheumatology for her tireless advocacy, including testimony before the US House of Representatives’ Health Subcommittee of Energy and Commerce. She has contributed to several pieces of local legislation: a Step Therapy Bill, a ban on Accumulator Adjustment Programs, and the biosimilar substitution bill.

“These bills are extremely important in helping Louisiana patients enjoy access to the right affordable medicine and ensure that any financial help they receive is counted towards their deductible,” says Dr. Feldman.
