This is the best time of year for imbibing and enjoying the Carnival season. We have a few places that are serving up festive cocktails that are sure to get you in the mood.

Toups Meatery (845 N. Carrollton Ave.) is known for its rustic Cajun food and its creative cocktail menu. The Zulu cocktail, they say, is certain to keep the party going all night with a boozy mix of chili tequila, Averna, amaretto, coconut milk, Demerara and Coco Porter. This drink, created by beverage director Bryson Downham, is awesome and will keep you coming back for more.

Martin Wine Cellar (714 Elmeer Ave.) is raising a glass to a tasty celebration of fondue and wine. They are pouring 11 wines and pairing them with four melting pot recipes. Wines included are Luisin Barera d’Alba, Vietti Armeis, Cantina del Taburno Albarosa Rose just to name a few. Grab a ticket and some friends and enjoy this fun night out. This will be held after carnival Thursday, March 5, at 6:30 p.m.

Grand Krewe (2305 Decatur St.) is hosting its Friday night Fun Wine Tasting & Pairing on Jan. 31 at 5:30 p.m. You will experience and taste wines from all around the world, paired with small bites for just $25.
