Though the look was perfected by Blair Waldorf, fictional Upper Eastsider on The CW’s “Gossip Girl,” for the past year or so, the headband has made a resurgence in fashion. Famous fashion bloggers and influencers like Arielle Charnas of “Something Navy” and Kathleen Barnes of “Carrie Bradshaw Lied,” as well as local Instagrammers A Pinch Of Lovely and Haute Of The Rack have brought this statement piece back into their wardrobes.
But, does the headband transfer over to the bridal world? If you follow bridal fashion, you’d think, “yes.” As the upcoming Bridal Fashion Week, and those collections already released, is set to bring it on where headpieces are concerned. Brides.com reported earlier last month that all brides looking to wed in 2020 should have the statement piece on their radar.

While we agree it has the potential to add a bit of “cool” factor to your wedding day look — if not properly executed — it could completely throw off the entire ensemble.
Though our local bridal boutiques haven’t modeled the trends on their Instagram accounts yet, local clothing boutique Lucy Rose has fully embraced the headband.
Additionally, and like most trends lately, the ‘90s have come back once again with the return of the barrette. While we think many can pull off this look, like local makeup mogul Ashley Sievert seen below from her Instagram account, this too had the potential to be disastrous or modern and chic. Brides.com suggests that, “These little baubles are just the thing to hold your hair out of your face for that perfect half-up, half-down wedding hairstyle.”
