Making Magic Happen

The clear tent was draped in tiny white lights, while on small tables mushroom-shaped lamps glowed through their toppings of flower petals. Where was this fetching setting? Washington Square Park, which was the site for Girls and Boys Town of Louisiana’s annual fund-raiser. Held Oct. 14, the fête’s theme was “The Enchanted Forest,” and the décor courtesy of Urban Earth certainly charmed partygoers. Adding to the ambiance was entertainment by Phillip Manuel and a delicious assortment of food—K-Paul’s, Jacques-Imo’s, René Bistrot, Café Marigny and Krispy Kreme Doughnuts generously donated some of their most flavorful dishes.
Proceeds from the gala go to providing help, healing and hope through Girls and Boys Town’s residential services and short-term residential services. There is a hot-line, and outreach and professional training programs.
