LAFAYETTE, La – One Acadiana (1A), in coordination with agencies across the local, state and federal government, continues to monitor the impacts of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). 1A will report on data relevant to the regional economy as it becomes available, but please note much of the data in the monthly Economic Vitals represents a snapshot of one to three months in the past. As the “shelter in place” order continues, its effect on the economy will become more apparent in future reporting.
Economic Vitals:
As our nine-parish region’s economy continues to change and grow, it is important to monitor key metrics to understand our Lafayette MSA*, regional and state economy and answer:
- How and where our regional economy has grown or declined
- The effect of various industries on our region’s employers and employees
- How our economy compares to other regions in our state and across the U.S.
