All the Right Moves
Baton Rouge-based contemporary dance-theater company Of Moving Colors Productions is presenting “Kaleidoscope 2005 – a choreographer’s showcase,” on Nov. 13 at the Manship Theatre at the Shaw Center for the Arts. This show gives choreographers from around the state an opportunity to share their work, and OMC is teaming with the New Orleans Ballet Association to bring in displaced artists to perform solos, duets and ensemble works. Destrehan Plantation offers a good, old-fashioned fall fest Nov. 12-13 on its grounds on River Road. The 34th annual festival will feature an antiques mall, 175 artists and crafts vendors, entertainment, historical re-enactments in the Heritage Village, and children’s activities, as well as a “Cajun and Creole Food Park.” Admission is $5 per person; tours of the plantation house are available for an additional fee. .

Art lovers get their chance to stroll North Columbia Street in old Covington during the Covington Three Rivers Art Festival, held Nov. 12-13. Art by 150 artists lines the street and shops are open to patrons. Get ready to cast your eye (and perhaps your credit card) on paintings, photography, sculpture, jewelry and other art forms.
