What’s the history of the Riverview Room? In 1991 the Riverview Room hosted its very first event, a spectacular New Year’s Eve Party. A few weeks ago, we held our 25th New Year’s Eve celebration. Greg Leighton had the vision to renovate the space and open it for private events; Bruce Trascher was the chef. Together they created a thriving business in a unique location.
What kind of events do you hold? Every kind, wedding receptions, corporate cocktail parties and dinners, debutante parties, team building events, Bar and Bat Mitzvahs – you name it, we can host it!
What’s the capacity of the space? We can host wedding receptions for up to 400 people or 500 for stand-up cocktail parties, but we can make the venue work for smaller groups, too.
What kind of catering do you offer? Everything is prepared fresh on site. Our chef Eric Perkins has a knack for making our clients happy, from wedding receptions to formal seated served dinners.
What makes the Riverview Room special? It’s a combination: the incredible staff, the breathtaking views and the indoor and outdoor capabilities of the space.
Is there anything you are excited about now? Yes, I’m working on an event with a group from Australia and I’m always working with local businesses and brides, which is wonderful.
Is there anything coming up that you want to tell us about? Yes! Soon we’ll be hosting a French Quarter Business Association luncheon. This will be a great showcase of our new renovation.
