The world of plastic surgery, while exploding in popularity, is often relegated to an antiquated, even harmful, approach to patient care. In a for-profit world of assembly-line construction, patients can encounter uniform, ‘cookie-cutter’ procedures designed for a textbook, or ‘perfect patient’ scenario. As nature intended, no patient is ‘perfect’ or identical to another. For these reasons, Magnolia Plastic Surgery & MedSpa takes a decidedly more personal, patient-centered approach. By prioritizing healing and reduction of post-operative complications, with incorporation of patient functionality and satisfaction with surgical outcomes, patients are not just “clients”. Magnolia Plastic Surgery and MedSpa employs a true blend of the interpersonal and aesthetic art and science of plastic surgery. Dr. Heath Charvet, a double board-certified Plastic Surgeon, alongside his wife and Chief of Anesthesia, Lisa Charvet DNP, CRNA, have cultivated a team where trust is paramount—not simply in the pursuit of aesthetic enhancement, but in the integrity, expertise, and morality of the physicians and healthcare providers who care for each patient.
“Patients have a distrust of the system, and for good reason,” says Dr. Charvet. “Insurance companies are out for profit, prioritizing corporate interests over patient care. What we are creating at Magnolia is an environment where we are treating every patient as an individual; from pre- to post-operative care.”

One of their more seismic breakthroughs in recent years has been the use of ultrasound-guided nerve blocks for pain reduction, a part of their ERAS (Enhanced Recovery After Surgery) protocol. Anatomical blocks without the utilization of ultrasound guidance are often unreliable, requiring more intraoperative narcotics, while MPS prioritizes reduced narcotic use. MPS is innovating and leading the future of aesthetic medicine by incorporating ERAS principles with photobiomodulation, IV therapy, lymphatic drainage massage, ultrasound-guided nerve blocks with long-acting nerve-blocking medications, novel non-narcotic medications for acute pain, and a steadfast commitment to open communication; the result is a patient-centered surgical experience focused on comfort, safety, and optimal outcomes. Additionally, the Charvets have curated a strategic approach based upon pharmacology and physiology to treat various receptors involved in PONV (postoperative nausea and vomiting), essentially eliminating this annoying nuance for patients. A norm-shattering practice, to be sure, but one founded in a devotion to patients over clients and a revulsion for corporate profit-driven mentality that devalues patients and limits physician autonomy, ultimately culminating in poor patient outcomes.
“By having two providers, married no less, we are able to put patient recovery and comfort above ego or maximized profits,” says Dr. Charvet. “We treasure our independence because it’s what is best for our patients; a family-run business where lasting, quality care matters most of all.”

From surgery to functional medicine and everything in between, Dr. Charvet and the team at Magnolia Plastic Surgery & MedSpa believe their role extends far beyond providing exceptional surgical care. They serve as trusted partners, guiding patients with expertise, compassion, and personalized support through every consultation, every procedure, and every chapter of life.
“I give each of my patients my personal cell phone number because recovery from surgery is a journey,” says Dr. Charvet. “I want to be with you, a voice you can count on, through the rest of your life; one where, through collaboration and communication, you can look and feel the best you ever have.”
