The success of Pure Dermatology is a story of friendship and how two dermatologists created a team atmosphere that allowed them to reach more goals, aspirations, and patients than they ever thought possible.

Dr. Kate Zibilich Holcomb started Pure Dermatology in 2017 with the concept of creating a beautiful, comfortable, space differentiating it from most doctor’s offices. Dr. Holcomb wanted patients to feel like they stepped into a luxurious hotel lobby where every patient was greeted with a warm smile. This service forward atmosphere puts patients’ nerves at ease and allows the Pure Dermatology Team to deliver more comprehensive dermatologic care. Dr. Mara Haseltine and Dr. Holcomb often joke that they convince more patients to take their clothes off than anywhere else. Of course, this is necessary to perform a thorough skin examination.

The former sorority sisters at Tulane University decided to join forces in 2019, with Dr. Haseltine bringing a pediatric dermatology, cutaneous lymphoma, and complicated medical disease background, which complimented Dr. Holcomb’s allergic dermatology and cosmetic experience.

“We quickly learned how much more we could accomplish as two,” says Holcomb, “Our differing skill sets and interests within dermatology allowed us to see every type of patient.”

Their symbiotic visions have allowed them to elevate Pure Dermatology and grow the business exponentially while keeping the small, personalized feel of patient care and outcomes at the utmost importance. With two Board-certified Dermatologists, a Nurse Practitioner, a Physician Assistant, four Aestheticians, and 15 meticulously trained staff, Pure Dermatology seeks a level of excellence that sets them apart. Any good dermatologist can diagnose a rash or skin cancer. But by working together with a shared vision, the Pure Dermatology Family creates an environment where patients feel comfortable discussing their skin health and beauty needs.
