Mixing It Up

The New Orleans Culinary & Cultural Preservation Society presented “Meet the Craft Distillers” Friday, July 22. The event proved to be exciting and entertaining with 28 of the world’s top distillers showcasing their spirits and mixing cocktails that delighted guests. In the last decade, the number of small distillers in the United States has grown from a few dozen to more than 200. They make a variety of products including vodka, gin, aged whiskeys, brandies and a wide range of liqueurs.

Tales of the Cocktail, the world’s premier cocktail festival, gave attendees a special opportunity to meet the artisans of our country’s top distillers. The festival also brought together some of the most respected minds in mixology for five days of cocktails, cuisine, and culture. Held annually in New Orleans, this event has something for cocktail amateurs and professionals alike with a “spirited” schedule of seminars, dinners, competitions, parties, and social events, which kept guests entertained for the duration of the festival.
