City Park was a site to behold on Friday, October 15, when The New Orleans Botanical Garden hosted its inaugural “Magic in the Moonlight” dinner in the garden.
Certified Master Chef James Corwell of Le Foret (who was also named “Best New Chef” by New Orleans Magazine this month) presented the al fresco dinner on the main axis of the Botanical Garden. The event also featured a patrons-only champagne reception and a special preview of the landscape architect and artist exhibits for the Botanical Garden Fall Festival.
A very special highlight of the evening was the auction of a full-sized reproduction of the Enrique Alférez sculpture “Reclining Nude.”
Proceeds from the event, made possible by Chairman Edith Dupré LeBlanc, Advisory Chairpersons Sandra Pulitzer and René J. L. Fransen and Director Paul Soniat, will benefit the establishment of new gardens as well as the expansion of public use and appreciation of the Botanical Garden.
