James McNamara is CEO and president of BioDistrict New Orleans. James explains that BioDistrict New Orleans will encompass1,500 acres spanning the downtown and Mid-City areas of New Orleans. The BioDistrict is focused on developing a bioscience industry in New Orleans to offer world-class bioscience research that will stimulate economic development by creating high-paying jobs. According to James, many of these new jobs will require only an associate degree. For many New Orleanians, these new opportunities in the science and healthcare field will open the door to a new industry in New Orleans that will benefit citizens and move the city further as it continues to grow and develop.
