HAMMOND, La (press release) – Gnarly Barley announces Micro Giant Belgian Dubbel as the third installment of their seasonal release calendar. 2021 has been the inaugural year of a calendar that includes seasonal releases that are available for purchase in distribution as well as in their Hammond taproom.
Micro Giant is a Winter release and joins Planet Juice and Festbier, the Spring and Autumn releases, respectively. The Belgian Dubbel will debut at the upcoming GnarBQ event at the brewery on October 23rd, and will later debut in the market through distribution the week of November 1st. It will remain available until the Spring release debuts in early 2022.
Gnarly Barley, typically noted for their IPAs and Sours, continues to explore their diverse skillset by producing a wide variety of styles. Micro Giant exemplifies their ability to drive interest in beers outside of the massively popular IPA market, and their skillful execution breathes life into the lesser harnessed traditional beer styles. Prior to the release of Micro Giant they saw the Louisiana craft beer market impressively embrace their Autumn release, Festbier. Exhibiting that a traditional lager is well within the taste preferences of this local region – and Micro Giant is a testament to that palate expansion. A 6.8% Belgian Dubbel brewed with traditional Belgian Candi Sugar for a full and viscous body and a Belgian yeast for pronounced and balanced fruity esters.
