NEW King Cake Flavor Revealed by Brennan’s for Carnival 2024

NEW ORLEANS (press release) – New Orleans native and restaurateur, Ralph Brennan, is making sure Mardi Gras can “parade” through patron’s front doors with one-of-kind King Cakes by Brennan’s. It’s tradition to debut a NEW custom cake, and 2024 brings a ‘golden’ opportunity. The Almond King Cake [$34] honors the authentic, customary flavors of Galette des Rois – the 14th Century king cake of French origin, celebrating the Epiphany. Ralph Brennan Restaurant Group’s Bakery is in full king cake mode – baking the beloved brioche-style cakes to be delivered to Brennan’s, King Cake Hub, and other local spots.

The surprise confection – Almond King Cake –  is delightfully nutty. The buttery dough is lightly sweetened with splashes of Orange and Lemon Zest that brightens this irresistible flavor combination of layers of Frangipane, a creamy Almond filling – made in-house by finely processing blanched Almonds and Sugar together. It is crowned with toasted Almonds for added texture and decadently dusted with Powdered Sugar. [It is only available at the King Cake Hub and Congregation Coffee.]

The Almond King Cake is the French Connection to the royal trio of beloved king cakes by Brennan’s.

This includes the Traditional King Cake – a classic king cake with Cinnamon, baked to a golden brown. To finish, a glaze of frosty White Icing is sprinkled with the symbolic hues of Carnival.

The Bananas Foster King Cake – inspired by the popular flamed dessert invented at Brennan’s, New Orleans, is a delicious blend of Cinnamon, Brown Sugar, and Honey, with Banana Liqueur and Vanilla.  It is filled with a Banana-flavored Cream and topped with a Butter Rum, Brown Sugar Icing.

And keep the “Pardi” going with the Pink Parade King Cake – a rosy-hued beauty inspired by the deep-pink façade of Brennan’s, and filled with a light-and-airy Strawberry Cream Cheese. It is covered in Pink Icing, topped with White Chocolate, White Chocolate Croquant Pearls, and a showering of pink Cocoa Butter.

Visit kingcakesbybrennans for details on ordering and local pick-up. The Almond King Cake is only available for local pick-up at the King Cake Hub and Congregation Coffee. The Traditional, Bananas Foster & Pink Parade king cakes are available for scheduled pick-up at Brennan’s, Ralph’s on the Park, and retail partners during Mardi Gras season.
