New Orleans and Company Celebrates National Tourism and Travel Week

NEW ORLEANS (press release) –  New Orleans and Company will celebrate National Tourism and Travel Week, slated for the May 1-7, 2022. It’s a time when travel and tourism professionals across the country unite the celebrate the value travel holds for the economy, businesses, communities and personal well-being. This year’s them is “The Future of Travel.” 

New Orleans and Company will celebrate the week the way only New Orleans can, with a parade and pep rally Tuesday morning, May 3. The organization will also host a hospitality industry job fest at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center New Orleans (MCCNO) Wednesday, May 4. 

This year’s theme elevates how the travel industry can restore the workforce, help communities recover, foster sustainability, usher in new innovations and reconnect travelers in the U.S. and around the world.

Special guests will include Lt. Governor Billy Nungesser and Don Welsh, Destinations International Chief Executive Officer, who will offer remarks at the Pres Conference Tuesday morning, May 3.

Four “champions” of the hospitality industry will be honored at the post-parade celebration.

Celebrated annually the first full week in May, NTTW was created by Congress in 1983 to elevate the economic power of travel in the U.S. The 39th annual NTTW (May 1-7) arrives as the industry looks ahead to future growth and success following the challenges of the past two years.
