NEW ORLEANS (press release) – On Saturday, Oct. 21, New Orleans Ballet Association invites guests to experience the season opener, world premiere from Complexions Contemporary Ballet with Chief Adjuah (fka Christian Scott) at Mahalia Jackson Theater.
Keeping with tradition, NOBA continues its nationally recognized initiative to pair internationally renowned choreographers with jazz musicians by bringing together two of the world’s most recognized and prolific artists – choreographer Dwight Rhoden and Chief Adjuah. Led by the legendary Dwight Rhoden and Desmond Richardson, the brand has captivated audiences for 30+ years in over 20 countries with its approach to dance and contemporary ballet.
Complexions returns to New Orleans with a season opener of a dynamic program of Rhoden works, set to the live music of New Orleans native and GRAMMY® Award-nominated jazz musician Chief Adjuah and Ballad Unto, a high-intensity performance to the music of J.S. Bach. The evening will close with LOVE ROCKS, a performance set to the music of GRAMMY Award-winning singer-songwriter Lenny Kravitz.
