Jenny Hamilton is executive director of the New Orleans Ballet Association (NOBA). According to Hamilton, NOBA was founded in 1969; today it brings some of the world's best dance companies to New Orleans as part of its "Main Stage" series. NOBA also has in-school and after school programs. These programs are tuition-free and now serve more than 3,000 children throughout the New Orleans area. As part of these educational programs, NOBA offers dance classes at each New Orleans Recreation and Development Commission (NORDC) center in the city. In fact, 2013 is NOBA and NORDC's 20th anniversary as partners to promote quality dance in New Orleans. In this podcast, one of the instructors from Ballet Hispanico joins Hamilton to explain some of the dance techniques she teaches.
