An elegant evening of al fresco dining in the Botanical Garden brought patrons together to enjoy fine dining and dancing for an after-hours soiree marking a quarter-century milestone of the New Orleans Botanical Garden Foundation.
The décor, described as “simple, yet elegant, tasteful and refined,” mirrored the style of one of the esteemed honorees: Genevieve “Gen” Trimble.
Centerpieces of white hydrangeas, lisianthus and freesia, donated thanks to Dunn & Sonnier Antiques, Flowers and Gifts and The Garden Study Club, adorned tables dressed in white.
The menu included cocktails, passed hors d’oeuvres of pear, brie and walnut pizzette, oyster shooters and foie mousse served in the Arrival Garden and Conservatory of the Two Sisters. Chef Chris Anderson of Joel’s Cuisine created a dinner of corn crème moulée, grilled tuna, ginger and citrus served along the Main Axis of the Botanical Garden.
Featured entertainment was The Raphael Bas Trio during the cocktail hour and dining. Later, DJ Ann Glaviano: Heatwave got the beat going for the After Party in the Conservatory of the Two Sisters.
Several North Carolina escapes proved popular in the auction, as did a Culinary Staycation at The Chloe and a Fish Hawk Dinner in the Outdoor Kitchen of the Botanical Garden.
Will and Catherine Hales and Renee and Paul Masinter served as Co-Chairs.
