NEW ORLEANS (press release) – This week Travelpulse.com compiled the Top 10 Reasons to Visit New Orleans in 2020.

New Orleans City Park is proud to be named in the list. With its many attractions, events and open green spaces, City Park’s 1300 acres is a dream destination for anyone year-round.

“It’s not difficult to convince clients to take a trip to New Orleans, a city with world-renowned restaurants, a vibrant music scene, major festivals and events (hello, Mardi Gras and Jazz Fest) and an atmosphere that’s truly unlike anywhere else in the world. But just in case your clients need that extra motivation, here are the top 10 reasons to plan a trip to New Orleans this year,” says TravelPulse.

The website singled out: the Louisiana Children’s Museum, Café Du Monde, and the recently renovated Storyland. TravelPulse say City Park is a ‘can’t miss’ for families both local and those traveling to the crescent city.

“We’re excited to be include on this elite list. The year 2020 is very special to City Park, as it marks our 170th anniversary. Last year was quite a year for the park and thus 2020 is off to an amazing start. We invite everyone to visit and see this well-loved world class Park,” said Bob Becker, CEO for New Orleans City Park.

In its 170th year, City Park continues to push forward with thoughtful progress. Last year was a banner year for City Park. A six-acre expansion of the New Orleans Museum of Art Sydney and Walda Besthoff Sculpture Garden was opened. Café Du Monde opened in City Park in July of 2019. In September, the Louisiana Children’s Museum opened its doors to the children of the nation. A new swing-ride joined the other 17 amusement rides in Carousel Gardens Amusement Park and Storyland was revitalized for the first time in 30 years. A large outdoor kitchen in the New Orleans Botanical Garden opened and The City Park/Pepsi Tennis Center received the national 2019 USTA Facility Award.

New Orleans City Park is in great company with other New Orleans gems such as kayaking in Bayou St. John, the new airport, and the 50th anniversary of Essence Festival. To visit the online post and see the other nine points of interest for 2020, click here.
