This October, New Orleans Magazine celebrates its 60th anniversary. We’ve put together some of the iconic, noteworthy, sometimes scandalous, sometimes silly, but always interesting, moments that have made our pages. It’s a time capsule of faces, personalities, community and characters that capture our minds and magazines throughout the years.

We can’t think of a better, and more delicious, origin story: a small dining room in Antoine’s, where the idea was hatched over (what we assume) was a festive meal highlighted by (we hope) the iconic Baked Alaska.

In the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, the magazine reorganizated, rebuilding and renewing like the city itself. Renaissance Publishing’s first issue of New Orleans Magazine featured our a new look and an inspiring plan of action for our hometown.
