New Orleans Nightmare Announces 2023 Kickoff to Halloween Season

NEW ORLEANS (press release) – Thirteenth Floor Entertainment Group, the producers of world-class live events and location-based entertainment experiences, today announced the highly anticipated return of New Orleans’ ultimate Halloween event, New Orleans Nightmare. This season kicks off on Friday, Sept. 22, and will be open on select nights through Saturday, Nov. 4. Previously known as House of Shock, this long standing haunted tradition takes visitors through an unforgettably frightening experience with thrills around every corner.

“New Orleans Nightmare returns with three all-new themes and a few new surprises that will show you why New Orleans truly is America’s most haunted city and the best place to celebrate Halloween,” Chris Stafford, CEO & Founding Partner states. “We look forward to welcoming you back!”

Haunted house lovers can expect three brand new attraction themes: The Deadlands, Repossessed, and Midnight Mortuary: Blood Ritual. With new storylines and fresh maze routes, this year’s footprint is set to keep visitors on their toes. Guests will also have the opportunity to add on additional experiences, including Mini Escape Games, Phobia, and the new Shot In The Dark secret bar. Bar 13 will be returning with spooky libations for guests 21+ to enjoy before and after their haunt experience, as well as a number of local food trucks on site. This season will cap off on November 4th with the infamous “Blackout”, where thrill-seekers can go through the haunted house in total darkness, with nothing but one glow stick to guide their group along.

Tickets are on sale now, starting at $19.99 on select nights. For more information, visit neworleansnightmare.com and find them on Instagram at @neworleansnightmare. This event may be too intense for children under 12. New Orleans Nightmare is located at 319 Butterworth St., Jefferson, La 70121.
