New Orleans Restaurants, Bars Hosting New Year’s Eve Celebrations

NEW ORLEANS (press release) – There are many bars and restaurants around the city that have announced New Year’s Eve celebrations.

Palm&Pine

Ring in the New Year at Palm&Pine on Tuesday, Dec. 31, with a six-course prix fixe menu for $125++ per person from 5:30 – 10:45 p.m. The decadent menu features Oysters on the Half Shell with hibiscus, Aji Amarillo mignonette, and schmaltz; Nixta Creole Pumpkin with chicken liver mousse, farro, and winter greens; Pulpo and Cangrejo Salpicón with braised octopus, LA crab, jackfruit, and blue corn tostada; Cast Iron Seared Scallops with uni, coconut creamed rice, and green chili nuoc mam; and Duck à la Satsuma with foie gras scallion pancake, bok choi, and BBQ oyster mushrooms. End on a sweet note with Taleggio Semifreddo with brown butter chocolate chip cookie streusel. Pescetarian and Vegetarian menus are also available with advance notice. Osteria Lupo

NOLA’s favorite Northern Italian hotspot, Osteria Lupo, will offer a delectable family-style four-course New Year’s Eve tasting menu on TuesdayDec. 31, for $95 per person (excluding tax & gratuity). The first course (antipasti) is an Antipasti Plate — a selection of salumi, formaggi, and housemade antipasti. Pasta dishes include Angolotti Tartufo with black winter truffle ricotta and Grana Padano, and Lobster Risotto Milanese with saffron crema, seafood demi-glaze, and fine herbs. Third-course dishes include Veal Saltimbocca with lemon, caper, and sage, Milk Braised Rancho Gordo Beans with pickled raisin tapenade, and Insalata Mista with frisee, arugula, fennel, and local citrus. Costera

Gather your friends and family and head to Costera for a delicious New Year’s Eve tasting menu. On TuesdayDec. 31, the neighborhood restaurant will offer a festive four-course family-style tasting menu for $95 per person (excluding tax & gratuity). The first course includes Marinated Chanterelle and King Oyster MushroomsBaked LA Blue Crab and Fontina Dip with Lavash, and American Red Snapper Crudo with winter citrus and pistachio. The second course includes Crispy Pork Belly with spiced apple and fennel salad and Seared Jumbo Scallopwith sunchoke and parmesan. The third course features Braised Beef Short Ribs with pickled peppers and fresh herbs, Roasted Heirloom Carrot Salad with olive oil yogurt, and Creamy Parmesan Polenta with chili crisp. Compere Lapin 

Ring in 2025 with an unforgettable dining experience at Compere Lapin. Chef Nina Compton’s exquisite four-course New Year’s Eve menu is priced at $150 per person (excluding tax & gratuity), with dietary accommodations available. Diners can enjoy amuse — Deviled Eggs with white truffle, a first course of Tuna Tartare with satsuma, aji amarillo, and yucca, and the second-course dish features the Short Rib with Maine lobster, calaloo, and black truffle jus. This New Year’s Eve, BABs will offer a delicious four-course prix fixe menu. Priced at $125 per person (excluding tax & gratuity), the optional New Year’s Eve menu includes antipasti — Marinated Olives with peppers, tomatoes, collard green pesto, and grissini. The appetizer is Cotechino —  lentils; entree dishes include White Truffle Risotto with shaved mushrooms and Barolo Braised Short Ribs with creamy polenta. Alma Cafe

Fuel up for NYE on Dec. 31 at Alma Cafe from 8 a.m. – 3 p.m. The famed Honduran restaurant has you covered with a meal that is as vibrant and flavorful as the city itself. Visitors can indulge in signature dishes like Fritas Hondureñas — fried homemade flour tortillas with refried beans, homemade cream, and queso fresco; Baleada Sencilla — eggs, refried beans, homemade cream, queso fresco, and avocado served on a homemade flour tortilla; Bistec Encebollado with hand cut sirloin and caramelized onions served with black beans, and local jasmine rice infused with seasonal veggies; and Lemon Ricotta Pancakes — blueberry lemon ricotta pancakes with hoodoo liqueur syrup. Good Catch Thai Urban Bistro

New Year’s Eve at Good Catch Thai Urban Bistro. On Tuesday, Dec. 31, Executive Chef Aom Srisuk is excited to offer a six-course “Feed Me” Chef’s Tasting Menu for $75 (includes one cocktail or glass of wine) featuring authentic Thai cuisine infused with fresh Gulf seafood. In addition, all dinner guests will receive a complimentary glass of champagne upon arrival to celebrate the New Year. The restaurant’s regular menu will also be available.

Vessel NOLA

Come celebrate New Year’s Eve 2024 at Vessel NOLA in a historic 1914 church in Mid-City just 10 minutes from The French Quarter.  Executive Chef Willie Cooper is offering his gourmet five-course menu at $125.00 per person (excluding tax and gratuity).  A complementary glass of sparkling wine will introduce the chef’s special dinner selections.  First course: amuse bouche of bacon-wrapped oysters over fried green tomato, warm bacon jam, and feta cheese. Second course: Brussels sprouts salad with shaved parmesan and sherry vinaigrette.  Third course: black eyed pea and cornbread soup.  Fourth course: choice of Trout Carolyn (sauteed trout topped with shrimp and crab meuniere, broccolini and Lyonnaise potatoes) or Osso Bucco (slow-braised, bone-in veal shank, lemon risotto, carrots & celery).  Fifth course: choice of blueberry bread pudding or Kahlua chocolate mousse cake with Luxardo cherries.

Bourbon Vieux

Ring in 2025 on the largest covered balcony on Bourbon Street overlooking America’s wildest New Year’s Eve block party. Creole Cuisine Restaurant Concepts is hosting a New Year’s Eve celebration at its Bourbon Vieux venue. The festivities begin at 9 p.m. and include an open bar and a gourmet buffet featuring New Orleans-style appetizers, a pasta station, and a carving station with smoked brisket and stuffed pork loin. A Louisiana classics station includes BBQ shrimp, red beans and rice, jambalaya, and gumbo. Desserts include bread pudding and assorted miniature desserts. Guests will enjoy a champagne toast at midnight.

Pontchartrain Hotel

Celebrate New Year’s Eve high above the vibrant streets of New Orleans at Hot Tin. Enjoy live music by the trumpet player and vocalist John Michael Bradford, and beats by DJ PJ from 9:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. A cover charge of $55 applies, and reservations will not be taken (early arrival is recommended, as this is a first-come-first-served event).

Jack Rose will be open for dinner only from 5-10 p.m. on New Year’s Eve, offering a four-course, prix-fixe menu (wine pairings available for an additional cost).  Reservations are available at jackroserestaurant.com/reservations.

Bayou Bar will be open on New Year’s Eve beginning at 11 a.m., with some of the city’s favorite jazz musicians taking the stage at 9:30 p.m.  Reservations are available for $50 per person at 9 p.m. on Open Table, guaranteeing table seating.  Walk-ins will be welcome on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Saffron

Saffron will continue its annual tradition of a themed New Year’s Eve dinner with a special Indo-Euro celebration, where Chefs Arvinder and Ashwin will blend classic European dishes with authentic flavors of India throughout a five-course meal. Highlights include Curried Mussels Velouté with saffron risotto and Masala Beef Wellington, plus imaginative cocktails by Colin Williams and an optional wine pairing ($65) curated by sommelier Taylor Adams. Cochon Butcher

According to Southern folklore, if you eat cabbage, pork, and black-eyed peas on New Year’s Day you are guaranteed good luck throughout the year! Cochon Butcher can help keep the New Year’s Day tradition with bacon braised cabbage, smothered pork, and black-eyed peas for good fortune, prosperity, and wealth.
