New Orleans Voices: Babs Mollere

Babs Mollere is managing director for the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra, and she shares the orchestra’s holiday schedule. I asked if getting the musicians back following Hurricane Katrina was challenging, and much to my surprise, Babs said no. The musicians returned after Katrina because they understood the importance of continuing our priceless musical heritage. Babs also explained that New Orleans has a rich history of classical music and pointed out how in the early days of the city, the Mississippi River played a big role in attracting musicians to New Orleans.
